A very popular bar in the barrio of Lavapies.The food and service is excellent. Given that this is the capital city of Spain, the prices for food, the menu del dia, and drinks are remarkable value,particularly when compared to the ridiculous prices in London. The popularity of the bar, and the turnover, cannot but be a contributory factor. There is a sunny terrace. Over the past 30 years it has been our first stop on arriving in Madrid.

This was our first lunch after getting to Madrid and it was SO SO GOOD!! The waitress spoke English and was very friendly to us. The food came out fast and delicious. She even brought our smaller plates so we can share the dishes. The daily lunch menu, which is 3 courses, appetizer, main dish, dessert or coffee, portions are big and tasty. If you are in the area (which you should be because the Mercado de San Fernando is literally two doors down), do not hesitate to try out this local gem!

We were lucky enough to find this restaurant. San Fernando was packed, and on our exit, we found this little gem. The atmosphere is great, the staff was very helpful and really spot on with their suggestions. Everything we ordered was delicious, scrumptious and the portions were huge. I highly recommend to ask for the day's menu.

Overall a lovely experience to sit on the patio and eat and people watch after shopping at El Rastro on a Sunday. Laid back, excellent service, very attentive, friendly staff and the food was delicious. Cesar was a wonderful waiter! The boquerones en vinagre was a large serving and absolute perfection.

We stopped here to drink some coffees, the coffee was okay, no place to sit inside tho. The terrace is full smoking area, even tho the legal Ban about it is already on, so we had to drink it in, standing. While we where taking our coffees, some foreigners entered and the staff in Spain said they will just charge a full ration even when they asked for just two churros... To us, they said they didn't had churros at all. So I would tell you to be careful if you aren't from Spain, they maybe could charge you more than if you where Spanish.
